Pet Skin Health Initiative
Skin health is a vital aspect of overall wellness for pets, including dogs (canines), cats (felines), and horses (equines). Their skin acts as a protective barrier against environmental irritants, parasites, allergens, and infections. Maintaining healthy skin helps prevent discomfort, hair loss, and more serious health issues.
In dogs, common skin problems include allergies, hot spots, mange, and yeast infections. Regular grooming, a balanced diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and flea control are key to preventing these issues. Bathing with gentle, pH-balanced shampoos and monitoring for excessive scratching or redness can catch problems early.
Cats may suffer from flea allergies, fungal infections (like ringworm), or dermatitis. Since they groom themselves often, signs of skin trouble can be subtle. Look for bald patches, scabs, or over-grooming behaviors. Nutritional support and regular vet visits are essential for early diagnosis and care.
Horses often face skin challenges from weather exposure, insect bites, fungal infections (like rain rot), and mud-related conditions. Daily grooming, fly repellents, and proper stable hygiene help keep their coats healthy and free from irritation.
Across all species, hydration, good nutrition, parasite control, and timely veterinary care are fundamental for maintaining vibrant skin and a comfortable, healthy life.

Research Progress
.
The Open Science Institute’s Pet Skin Health Initiative has now progressed to the First phase — Systems Architecture.
We need your support to move forward. Our goal is to raise $2 Million to research and reveal to the scientific community, highlighting the powerful potential of herbs in pet skin health. Please support this initiative.

Systems Architecture
The Systems Architecture of Pet Skin Health is published as a Web-based tool open to public. Click below to interact with the systems architecture

Publication
A peer-reviewed publication from the Pet Skin Health Initiative will be released soon to benefit the public by revealing powerful insights into the use of compounds for treating diseased pet skin health conditions—support this initiative to advance scientific discovery and deliver real solutions.

In silico Modeling
In this phase, the Pet Skin Health Initiative will conduct in silico modeling to identify and test the efficacy of compounds on inflammation, allergy and wound healing activity. This phase is yet to begin.
Combination Screening

Patents
The Open Science Institute® through its Pet Skin Health initiative is moving towards getting patents for a revolutionary compounds that affects inflammation, allergy and wound healing activity.

Licensing and Manufacturing
The Pet Skin Health Initiative plans to discover, develop, license and manufacture a Pet Skin Health product which supports treatment of many diseases. Support our mission to bring this innovation to those who need it most. Please support this Phase by donating to the Pet Skin Health Initiative
